Amber spent her childhood in Ohio where she was raised alongside her siblings by their parents. She began taking dancing and singing lessons at the age of six, but soon developed an interest in acting, and at the age of eight began taking acting classes. After matriculating from a local high school in Ohio, she enrolled at Otterbein University in Westerville, from which she graduated in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in acting.

Amber launched her acting career in 2003, when she appeared in the film “The Three Stages of Stan” which is based on short stories written by two San Francisco writers. Bob Vickery and Dale Chase. In the same year she played in the films “My Life with Morrissey” and “Advantage Hart”. In 2007 she portrayed a hotel manager in the short movie “Hearts and Hotel Rooms” , and in the same year could have been seen in the “Shiloh Falls” western thriller movie.

In 2009 Amber starred in the “Solitary” drama mystery film, which turned out to be her breakthrough role – the plot follows the life of an agoraphobic woman who believes her husband and her psychiatrist are conspiring to kill her.

She went on to star alongside her husband in the “Take Me Home” comedy romance film in 2013, which focuses on Thom, an illegal taxi driver who Claire hires to take her to California, after she finds out that her father has had a heart attack. Some of the other movies Amber has appeared in throughout the years include “And Then They Came for Me”, “How I Learned to Drive”, and “Proposals” among others.

Sam then moved to New York, where he worked in a casting office – his acting career was already launched, as he appeared in the “Law & Order” TV series in 1990 at the age of 13. While in New York, he appeared in many theatre plays before switching to the big screen, and moving to Hollywood, Los Angeles. His first notable role was in 2000 when he appeared in the “Traffic” crime drama film, then went on to act in the “Behind Enemy Lines” war movie in 2001. In 2002, he appeared alongside Colin Farrell and Bruce Willis in the World War II movie “Hart’s War” , and in 2003 played Colt Skyler in the film “Advantage Hart” which he also wrote and produced.

Sam has appeared in numerous other movies during the next decade, including “The Truth About Emanuel” in 2013, “American Sniper” in 2014, and “S.W.A.T.: Under Siege” in 2017 – some of the TV series he has appeared in are “Notes from the Underbelly” in 2007, “Drop Dead Diva” in 2009, and in 99 episodes of the “Parenthood” TV series, in which he played the lead role of Joel Graham from 2010 to 2015.

Three of the films Sam has acted in, written and produced at the same time are “Advantage Hart” in 2003, “Take Me Home” in 2011, and “Plain Clothes” in 2013.
