Has anyone progressed with the event chain (or story chain) of the has giant dwellers who constantly ask you to help them move from one place to another? I've gotten to the Revolution and some notifications of typical revolutionary executions, but now I'm a bit curious as to how that decision will have further on impacts.
I also have the idea that they are evil creatures or something like that, because of the "no video feed" thing.
Anyone progressed on the chain more / finished it?

Nope sorry.
The only chain event I did find in my first play through (finished in disaster, after my neighbor mopped my battleships using destroyers armed with lasers \()/ ), was to capture seven different animals from different planet to build a exozoo in my capital planet (very funny, but very strange).

Wait what? The gas dwellers are baddies? I thought the quest ended already after it has been like 20 years since they last asked me help for the colonizing another gas giant.

I also had that one, had 2 unfinished precursor quest chains, never got the gas giant dwellers event chain.

I was happily enjoying this chain, until they asked me to move one of them to a planet inside the borders of a xenophobic fallen empire....

The Zoo one gets you a lot of Society research. A chunk from each animal and a bigger chunk at the end. No special bonus as far as I can tell but I wasn't Xenophile which I suspect will have an alternate option.

My experience with the guys from the gas planet:
-They ask help with moving to a uninhabited planet... was very far, but in my zone of expansion so i helped them.
-One day they give like 300 researsh that they don't need or something like that.
-Few years lather, they ask for help to send colonist to a planet in the other arm of the galaxy (fortunate that one was in my home system lol )
-Then they send me 500 energy credits that they found but don't need.
-Latter, like 10 years or more, they send me a message that ONE guy in the new planet miss his family and wants to return to the "capital" (the planet where you put them in the 1° event).
At this point the possible responds look like this: "really??" and "fine we will help again... "
Hope they don't ask more things now... i´m kind of bussy with a machine revolt at this moment

Nope I've only come across the Cave civilization dwellers who tried to come up to my colony surface. Ended up striking first and wiping them out.

I've gotten a bit further on the chain.
They'll say they've lost contact with one of their colonies/planets/stuff and it looks like that happened before when they were almost bombed out of existence, and ask you to check it out. You do, and it turns out to be Space Gas Giant Communists, who then ask you to help overthrow the current government. They ask you to deep strike them into the 'capital' planet. You can do so, and then you get messages about the Revolution and the killing of dissidents (standard MO stuff). Or you can deny them that, and let the current government know of the revolution and then transport the official troops to squash them.
I chose to squash them, but they asked me to go to the other end of the galaxy on another empires territory. So I reloaded and helped the Revolution go to a planet in my backyard.

I'm not sure yet if they're baddies or not; I just get the vibe of "quarantined species" and you going in and helping them spread out into the cosmos... the sort of thing where doing the "right" thing turns out to be you being ignorant of the entire problem and stuff

Anyone seen anything happen after the revolution?
I supported the revolution, but I am unsure if that was the best move.
I mean, these guys were my friends and then this revolt happens.
I don't know.

Hmm, interesting. Maybe the quest with homrsick colonist was not so simple too? She could be revolutionaries agent, scientist undercover, who tried to secretly replicate your space travel technology or someone like that. After all, we transported enough datnaks to suport stable growing populations and even have large scale internal conflicts. And only one homesick colonist, seriously? Something is fishy.

No they're not. Other than the revolution that happens, nothing else happens in this event chain, it's not like they come out of their planet or anything.
Sorry to bump, but for anyone googling this thread gives the impression that you're going to have some sort of disaster. It doesn't matter which side you pick in the revolution, other than a different number of deaths reported in the chaos on the planet. Nothing really happens but flavour text.

Yep, having suffered these annoying gas bags one too many times, now I just ignore them altogether as soon as the first event fires. I wouldn't mind an option to annihilate them though

I wouldn’t ignore it from the start - the first planet or two they ask you to transfer them to get a massive society research deposit (I think 6 off the top of my head). If you’re lucky it’ll be either close by or already in your space. That’s free science you’re turning down!
Afterwards, yeah feel free to deny them if you don’t want to deal with them anymore.

Yeah, back in the day when I just played vanilla it would be worth it - I now play with a whole slew of mods which, among other things, add deposits/modifiers to planets, new buildings etc, so faffing around playing galactic uber for some floating fart sacks isn't worth it
