Purchased the Whirlpool electric range with aqua lift technology. Have the stove for 21/2 yrs and have tried contacting Whirlpool on numerous occasions. Email and telephone. Only response I get from them, is that Im doing something wrong. How can you do anything wrong? Add water, push button. I finally put in a call to World Headquarters but had to leave message and nobody has returned call. I finally called a whirlpool serviceman and he told me the Aqua lift is not a true self cleaning oven. The temperatures dont get hot enough. It was meant to just loosen the dirt on the bottom and then you have to scrub. The button you press to start the process on the stove states SELF CLEANING. I believe they have mislead the public with their advertising. Im thinking about any options I may have.

We call their service center and have them check, findings is the motor not working and have to replace, we are asking them to replace it with new washing machine, but they only replace the motor, what we cannot accept is that they replace it with a surplus motor. Only two weeks used and they replace only surplus parts!!! Damn. What a bad experience... (The motor they put is noisy too)! After a year the spring hinge collapse and have to fix it again. And now my washing machine is like a helicopter when spinning, shaking and moving around our laundry area... I dont want to buy Whirlpool anymore.

The end all solution to your washing needs. The best the market has to offer and at over $1,100, they should be. The salesman completely sold us on why we should spend a little extra for such a superior product. I thought, I work hard. I dont make a ton of money, but this sounds like a long term, worthwhile investment. Wrap it up, the washer and dryer combo. Fast forward 4 years later. Whats that awful clunking sound the washer is making? Oh, its the drum. Maybe its off center. I opened it up to find that the spider arm is broken. Isnt it only 4 years old? Surely they (Whirlpool) will fix this at no charge to the consumer because as I was told 4 years ago, this is the best technology. Now mind you, its just my wife and me. She doesnt have to do laundry for 50 people or even 4 for that matter. Calling Whirlpool (ring, ring, ring. Hello, this is Whirlpool), I explained to them what the problem is and that we have only had this magnificent piece of gold for 4 years. What can you do for me? The front loading washing machine is a horrible product that should be pulled off the market and never be sold again. My experience with this company will never happen again because I will never ever buy another one of their products. So please, before you think about giving them your business by buying a front loading washing machine, think again. And remember this - I now have a $1,100 paperweight.

Over some time it worsened and grew bigger around all sides. I was unhappy about it, but thought it was just cosmetic and didnt pursue the issue. Now it must be on the inside and has started putting yellow spots on all of our clothes. It was only a towel or two at first and now it is on everything. I called Whirlpool and Lowes customer service center and they are just sorry and will not do anything. Lowes warranty does not cover any rust whatsoever although I cant find that stated on the warranty papers. I will never buy another Whirlpool product, ever. $600 for a washer and $70 for an extended plan to last on 3 years. I know people who have washers for 10 or 15 years. Im so disappointed.

About two months ago the washer starting stopping and the UL light continued to come on during every spin cycle. So I would adjust the clothes and start it again. So I decided that I should call a certified serviceman to come out and access the problem. Today a certified serviceman came out to access the problem. After about twenty minutes I was told the tub needed to be replaced and the cost and labor would be $600 or more. I do realize that the washer is about 8 years old but to completely need a repair like a new tub. I am very upset and have no idea what to do.

My Cabrio washing machine is 3 years old, and is working the way it has been designed to work. It does not clean clothes and it consistently has a foul odor. Due to the odor, I must use the cleaning cycle with Affresh (pricey product) 3-4 times weekly. Even that is insufficient. Because it is in an indoor laundry area, the odor permeates the hallway and nearby bedrooms. The extra cleaning cycles are contrary to the energy efficiency of the washer, and detrimental to the severe drought conditions in California. When I contacted Whirlpool about my situation, they recommended I substitute bleach for the Affresh to keep the cost down.

I owned & operated a Whirlpool Cabrio washer & dryer for 6+ years before up-sizing & loved them! I was grossly misled by the retailer to believe the new Cabrio washer & dryer were the same as the previous model of Cabrio. They are not. Their performance is subpar. Not what I would expect from top of the line. Washer does not spin out as dry as the previous model. It will not show error codes on display so I can deal with the issue at hand-it just shuts down. Dryer sensors do not work properly. It will not dry, or overdries to the point of shrinking clothing beyond use.This $2800 purchase is continuing to cost me money. I have never been more upset with a purchase than this. I have to babysit these machines. There is a bolt in the back wall of the dryer drum. Hence my destroyed brand new hand crocheted afghan. Oh and did I tell you that their licensed repair man told me that I should not be laundering bedding in my machines at home? Apparently there are no home use machines on the market that are able to wash bedding. Sheets. Pillowcases. All of it needs to go to a commercial laundromat. Ha! Makes a person question who we let in our home. If you would like a positive - its huge. But wont spin out a small load effectively.I have recommended and led to sale of dozens of the previous Cabrio model. We tried with the vacuum and with a brush but it is impossible to get to the coils because they run side to side instead of front to back. You can only get to the first coil in front. The rest cant be accessed from the front, sides or back. I called to find out how Whirlpool recommended they be cleaned and they could only recommend a vacuum attachment tool (8171579A) to clean the floor below the coils or a coil brush (4210463RW) that cant reach the coils! This design is meant to fail prematurely. They could have easily installed the coils running front to back so they could all be easily cleaned.

He just took off the 3 screws & lifted top off. On the outside part that has a white plastic housing, he turned the longer screw 2 1/4 times clockwise. EUREKA! We have more water! You may need to start out adjusting 1 turn & work up till you see a water level you like. Just dont let the water come over the wide rubber water guard.

They are unwilling to make this situation right. The unit is poorly made. I think a $800 unit should last longer than 4-5 years. In 2006, Whirlpool stopped offering a 5 year normal warranty on their units. Supervisor would not let me talk to anyone else.

Same thing, replace the ice maker and this time quit about 30 days later. I called August 27th because the 4th Ice maker quit again. The defroster does not work right and we have to unplug it so it will unthaw, then the refrigerator gets cold again. The freezer when it is acting up freezes food and ice cream so hard it is inedible. We have just purchased a different refrigerator. It has yet to heat the water more than warm. I called Lowes (Oct. 21, 2011) and tried to return it only to be told that I would have to get an authorization number from Whirlpool. I called and Whirlpool wanted me to trouble shoot the problem. I had to have an OHM meter and amp meter to do so, which means that I needed to have an electrician present to do these test because I dont own any of these things. I was then told that they could send someone to my house, but I may end up paying for this. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that she would tell me the same thing. The call ended when I told them that I guess I would have to do the best I could because I was not getting any help from them. Out of desperation, I went back to Lowes and got a new heating element to try to fix this problem myself. I installed it and it still did not work. I called back the next day and still did not get any help, I was only told that I needed to have these meters on hand to trouble shoot the problem. Why is it that I have to do this? The lady did not seem to care that I did not have any way to handle this problem. I felt that this problem was my burden and not Whirlpools for putting out a defective product. I have in my home about 5 new Whirlpool major appliances and have been a loyal customer for many years but after this incident, never again. I will also be advising my friends how Whirlpool has treated me. I am very disappointed with your customer service or should I say lack of customer service. I was told that had I said that the water heater was leaking, I would have been given an authorization number immediately! I still do not have any hot water as I sit here typing this complaint. My main complaint is that it is very, very loud, and seems to vibrate through the whole house. It runs most of the time at a level of 60 dB, which might be considered a low noise level for a mechanical appliance that runs occasionally like a dishwasher, but is quite loud for an appliance that, according to their own specs, runs at least 40% of the time. Nobody wants to notice their refrigerator. They just want it to work.Which brings me to my second complaint, the temperature control is all over the place, generally ranging from 25-50 F. I find it difficult to believe that the government, which always seems overly concerned about the temperature of restaurant food, or the pasteurization of cheeses doesnt care that an appliance nearly every American household has doesnt necessarily do its job, and isnt required to display internal temperature. The old-fashioned set this dial to an arbitrary number and hope its cool enough is not charming.Finally, though the finish is listed as stainless steel, mine started sporting tiny rust spots after only three months. Whirlpool states that Cosmetic issues are covered by the manufacturers warranty for the first 30 days of ownership only. After the first 30 days any repairs for cosmetic issues are the consumers responsibility. It seems as though they know theyve used a low grade of stainless steel.

I reviewed a lot of websites and see that this is a common occurrence for Whirlpool Cabrio washers, and Whirlpool will not stand behind it and make it right. Im going to write them a letter mirroring what Im saying here, and remind them that other appliances in my house are coming due for replacements or upgrades. Whirlpool and its affiliates will not be part of those upgrades going forward. I have no patience or tolerance for expensive **, which is what they put out here. I will have to purchase a replacement washer since this seems to have two major areas of failure, both extremely expensive to repair. I might check out Roper and see what they have--its apparently very well rated by the folks that work on these things.

The authorized repair person indicated that the failed part was a recalled item on the three door models. Mine is the four door model but has the same evap model. When contacting Whirlpool about covering some of this cost, they denied the issue and offered no assistance. This was after hours spent trying to get through. They do not return phone calls. I will never purchased another Whirlpool or related company product again. The quality is subpar and I hope my post prevents others from buying their shoddy products. Made in America doesnt mean what it used to.

A top loading washing machine with an agitator in my opinion, gets my clothes 100xs cleaner than one without. Ive owned front loaders and top without agitators. Never again. Top with agitator is my personal preference from now on. Also Whirlpool has never failed me unlike other brands.

Whirlpool Duet WFW94HEAW0 Washer - Bought the machine in Feb 2014 and was generally very pleased with it. However a few weeks ago we started getting oil/grease stains on clothing. Wasnt sure what was causing it but it has now got so bad that the machine cant be used. An internet search indicates it is possibly a ball racer ring and doesnt sound an uncommon issue. A call to Whirlpool resulted in a quote for circa $350 for a service call. Thats a 1/3rd of the original value (includes a 12 month warranty). And its just over a year old!!! We had a problem with the Maytag Neptune that ended in a class action suit and now this replacement machine seems to be even worse. I would recommend anyone to really consider what to buy and give this range a miss.

Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer 5 years ago because our other washer died after coming home from vacation. Its just 2 people in this household so I dont do mountains of laundry. The other machine lasted 15 years so go figure. We purchased the Cabrio from Lowes. Got the extended warranty but as it goes the machine fails when all warranties expires. Over the last couple of weeks this machine started to not complete a wash cycle. All lights go off except for spin light and machine stops. Even asked the person in charge of washers and dryers at Lowes about this who then told me to get an extension cord and plug it into a different outlet. Seriously! I have had to unplug the machine after it fails to complete cycle, wait 5 minutes or so, plug it back in, select rinse and spin, it fails again 13 minutes left in cycle, unplug again, plug it back in, select drain and spin, wait for it to MAYBE complete that cycle. Do not purchase this type of machine. Just for a technician to come look at it is $100 or more and to replace whatever circuit board is probably another $300 or more. Screw that! Going to find a good old fashion one if possible. Piece of junk. Not going to spend $700 or $1000 just to wash clothes for 2 people.

Then, the oven temperature for baking was found to not hold consistent. While pre-heating the oven for 350 F, the temperature goes up to 375 F, then well into the baking time, can drop to 100 degrees less (275 F). Oven feature is called accu bake. It ruined the baking and seems to be anything but.

This week noticed small cracks in plastic that surrounds and holds glass lid. Now lid will not sit flat and glass is emerging from encasem*nt. Called extended warranty claim center and was told it was a cosmetic issue. Called Whirlpool, and was told they were unaware of this flaw, even though countless websites, chat sites, and Youtube. My frustration is how they claim to be unaware of this flaw and refusal address it, after countless consumers have called. I would be willing to start a class action on this matter!

Whirlpool has been an absolute nightmare from day 1. We bought a brand new 50-gallon water heater from Lowes. It did not work. We went back to Lowes and were told to contact whirlpool. We contacted Whirlpool and were told to conduct a number of test and all test passed, so they said we needed a plumber to come look at it. Remind you that this water heater is brand new and has not worked since day 1. They said the plumber would cost $130 and they would pay for parts. Why am I having to pay when my water heater has never worked. Paid the money. Had them come. They replaced a part, did not work, replaced another and it did not work, so the plumber requested a new water heater. Whirlpool refused. What is the point of paying and they are not going to fix it.Whirlpool insisted it was our ventilation even though all test proved that was not the problem. So out of pocket again to fix the ventilation and it did not work. After 2 months of no hot water with a two-year old at home we had someone we know come look at it and fixed the main pipe. Whirlpool took my money and didnt fix my problem. HORRIBLE SERVICE.

This Whirlpool, two door, refrigerator with ice maker & water, replaced a very poor quality 'LG' refrigerator which had stopped working. The company, "LG" was not interested in learning what the problem was but was only interested in making sure we understood the fee for an "LG" repair person to come out. The set fee was a minimal of $150.00 without any repairs. We decided to toss the LG and went to our local Home Depot and purchased our Whirlpool that same day, on sale! Our Whirlpool has been working great, without any problems and the fresh, filtered water is always refreshingly cool. We would very highly recommend Whirlpool! It seems their products always work very well!

Whirlpool Gold Series - I bought this dishwasher less than 2.5 years ago. The thing already broke. The motor needs to be replaced at a cost of about $250. The thing never did a good job anyway and often had to run it more than once to get dishes clean. I paid about $650 for the machine so I guess its just a throw-away appliance. Whirlpool makes complete junk. I will buy a different brand that is known to have long-lasting dishwashers. I guess you get what you pay for.

I bought the Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher on November of 2014 from Home Depot. The first thing that happened was that it started to leak. I called Whirlpool and someone came out to look at it. It took about a week for them to come. They said it was installed incorrectly and they do not handle installation issues. They left. I took the dishwasher out and reinstalled according to the guide. It still leaked. The dishwasher had to be perfectly level before the leaking stopped.The next issue was that the dishes were not getting clean my dishes. The top rack was the worse. I called Whirlpool again. They came out, took the dishwasher apart and said the part called the diffuser had become dislocated. He placed it back into its proper position and left. This was April of 2015. The dishwasher did an ok job. Some dishes still came out with food on it. By the end of 2015, close to the warranty expiring, the top rack was no longer being washed. I took the dishwasher apart from the inside and found the diffuser was not in the right position again. So every time I want to run the dishwasher I need to take the spray arms out and the racks until I have access to the bottom of the dishwasher to reset the diffuser. Now the warranty was expired, Whirlpool wanted about $150 just to come look at the dishwasher. Sears wanted $59. So I called Sears. Their tech said the dishwasher has a broken motor. For Sears to fix it would be around $400. I called Whirlpool. I felt that the motor was already broken within the warranty period and that the problem finally got diagnosed now. Whirlpool felt this wasnt the case. Their price to fix was also close to $400. Now I need to buy a new dishwasher and throw away a one year old dishwasher. Only this time I will buy the extended warranty. Overall, poor product, poor customer service, and poor warranty coverage.

We bought this fridge about 5 years ago, it was the exact same model as one we bought in 2003 but everything had changed, the plastic for the drawers was a fraction of the thickness in the older model and it breaks and cracks with the slightest bump like setting the lettuce in, the frame of the door is full of cracks and the fridge keeps leaking then freezing and making puddles on the floor. The little plastic tabs for the ice dispenser broke. It is absolute garbage. The one we bought in 2003 was great clearly the company has NO integrity or desire to make a decent product. I wont be buying anything Whirlpool EVER again.

Weve had this washing machine only a few years, and our household of 2 probably averages 1 load of laundry per week. Weve always had the same problem everyone has with the detergent stains on clothing and having to rewash loads, and the only remedy weve found was using the oversized loads setting and rewashing a load. The last straw was 6 months ago. It quit going through a complete cycle and would not spin out without resetting it. Then it quit spinning out at all. Service Guard, a 3rd party warranty company, diagnosed a faulty motor and ordered a replacement. After a long delay Whirlpool advised it was back-ordered for 3 months. A week ago Whirlpool advised them it was now back-ordered until 5-27. They did not know whether wed ever obtain a replacement motor. After taking clothes to our sons house for a couple months to wash, we purchased another used machine to use until ours is repaired. It is beginning to appear that machine may be our permanent machine. This is a pretty sad testimonial about whirlpool. We have always used Whirlpool appliances but appears we may have to switch brands. And it certainly does appear these low water machines are garbage. Very disappointed in Whirlpool.

I hate this washing machine (Whirlpool Cabriolet) with every ounce of my being. That may sound harsh when talking about a washing machine. But, I assure you it is warranted. I have owned many washers in my day. This machine came to me after a family member passed away. The machine was almost new and had not been used very much at all. I found out very quickly that in order to simply wash a load of laundry could take as much as four hours. Every time you go to do laundry you get continuous codes and alarms. So it is a series of trips up and down the stairs to reset the machine, try to equalize the balance, and in many cases I have to unplug the machine and reset it all together. I have researched it extensively. And I have followed the instructions in the manual and from online instructional videos trying to resolve the multiple issues. I cannot wait to get an average everyday washing machine that is not too smart for its own good. I hate, hate, hate this machine!!!

We contacted Whirlpool re the matter and they dispatched a local serviceman. He informed us that the inner lining of the refrigerator was crooked and he contacted Whirlpool. He sent pictures of the crooked drawers and was advised by Whirlpool to adjust the outside door, but nothing could be done for the inside crookedness and that he was to take silicone and seal the refrigerator to prevent air coming in to create the ice... Really? We told him that was merely a Band-Aid to the problems and we wanted a replacement. According to Whirlpool, they can only service our month old refrigerator and cannot replace it.Actually, they cannot even service the defective product they sell, they can only caulk the problem until it comes again. I am not going to stop until everybody in the country buying a refrigerator thinks first about the warranty Whirlpool offers. After reading defective parts, etc., I am amazed they are still in business! We are contacting Lowes to come pick it up! Let them deal with the garbage they are selling!

Bought this machine in Feb 2007 as a pair Whirlpool Cabrio. I loved it for almost two years. The control board went out, Whirlpool replaced it. A couple of weeks later, the F-1 codes started then the F-51 codes. On July of 10, it was code after code. It sounded like a jet taking off and constant unbalanced load. I called repairman and was told to go buy new machine as repairs would start at $500 and since I live in a rural area, no one wanted to waste their time. Two repair techs told me point blank they wouldnt even touch it. We paid $1000 for this machine and we live pay check to pay check. I spent four months trying to get Whirlpool to do something. I kept getting told I should have bought extended warranty. Machine has been sitting under stairs for over year waiting to see if class action or recall can be done. Also when control board was replaced, the repair man told me it was rusting away from the inside out. My husband had to find us a used washer and this thing has done nothing but cost us money. Open lid it fills again and removes water, when spinning the lid locks and you cannot open it without unplugging and starting all over again. The wash doesnt even circulate to clean the clothes properly arggghhh. Annoying as all get up. The washer has no control for the water level. The clothes dont have enough water to clean or rinse. I spent over $500 on this and cant get rid of it as most people are selling these on local websites as they hate them as well. Whirlpool thank you for taking my money and producing this junk. Never ever again! I think the seller is also responsible for not telling me what to expect of this junk.

Several months ago, the washer just stopped working. We called Whirlpool technical support. They said wed have to pay for a repair. After several calls to Whirlpool for help, I found online references to a recall for the same problem. Whirlpool NEVER mentioned that the washer was recalled for the very same problem. I called them back with the recall information, and they politely sent someone out to rebuild the washer. Less than a year later it is no longer working, again. I went online first this time, to check for further recalls and complaints about the current problem (faulty control panel). I found many complaints about the same problem--even a reference to a class action law suit. Whirlpool said they were unaware of the problem, didnt have many complaints, and are unwilling to help. I asked for a supervisor, Benjamin, and he said there was NO means by which I could further escalate my complaint.

I was very familiar with the Whirlpool brand and knew that was going to be my first choice in a brand. These were full size. The tub is large enough to hold a king size comforter and wash it without destroying it. The dryer has a separate attachment for pillows and shoes (sneaker plus) and was competitively priced at the time of purchase.

She did offer to sell me a warranty for a year for $327.52. This was too expensive. I asked her what else could she do, and she told me nothing. Service guys came and replaced the rack and wheels and all was well until a few months passed and it happened again. At that point, it was outside of the warranty, so we called upon our extended warranty we bought through Whirlpool. Guess what? That warranty doesnt cover the racks. So they referred us back to Whirlpool. They told us we had to pay for it ourselves. After being treated like a ping pong ball several times, we ended up paying about $150 for labor for another guy to come out and replace the racks again. Whirlpool agreed to pay for the parts. A few months later, we again have a squeaky upper rack that is so loud it wakes people up in our house and its less than two years old at this point. Weve been sold a LEMON!! Just got off the phone with a supervisor at Whirlpool who said they cant do anything about it and wont acknowledge we have a lemon. When I told her I was going to take this as far as I need to to resolve it, even if we have to go to court, she laughed out loud at me. We will never again buy a Whirlpool product. Our LG appliances have been great however.

One night my wife was cooking dinner on the stovetop and she heard 2 loud pops and the whole cooktop went dead. We had Bobals appliances repair look at the range and they gave us an estimate of $800.00!! to replace the module board. The repairman said the module board had shorted out and burned. Thankfully my wife wasnt electrocuted. I contacted Whirlpool customer service, they said, There isnt anything they can do. The warranty is only 1 year. I also contacted Lowes customer service. They told me the same thing as Whirlpool, nothing they can do, 1 year warranty, etc. I have the part# of the module in the stove, W10390743, serial#31811552. After an internet search, this part # had been superseded, which tells me Whirlpool knows they have a problem. These ranges need to be recalled. I plan to contact the US consumer product safety commission to initiate a recall. Please inform consumers if they have this Whirlpool induction range with this problem, to also notify the Consumer product safety commission.

Whirlpool Gold Series French door, bottom freezer. - This fridge is beautiful. Thats as far as the pros go for it. The Freon is leaking and cant be repaired because of where the leak is coming from. I can always tell when its time for a recharge because it leaks water profusely when at a low charge (every 4 to 6 weeks). We paid over $1800 for this fridge back in 2013. It has been just over two years and we are now having to replace this fridge. I cant express my frustration at this point. Whirlpool wont do anything to help us. They told me, You are out of warranty, and thats all they have to say. Thats over a thousand dollars a year to own this POS when you consider taxes. Over $1250 a year when you consider the service calls along with it. I will not purchase another Whirlpool product ever again. I am disgusted by this company and their refusal to stand behind their product. They have literally stole money from me and are laughing about it. Do yourself a favor and stay far from Whirlpool.

This Whirlpool Gas oven with 5 burner top is very good and has given us 12 years of good service so far. The only issue is that the stovetop and oven are not easy to clean and keep clean. The finish is good and has no chips. I would expect the top to be easier to clean and keep clean with the finish technologies available. Same for the oven window glass - it is not easy to clean and keep clean.

I bought my Whirlpool induction stove several years ago. We normally use a toaster oven for baking as we are only 2 in our home. Last year I decided to cook a large turkey for the family. I threw the turkey into the oven and started cooking it. After an hour or so I decided to start cooking the potatoes etc on the stovetop portion. My potatoes started cooking and my element shut down. I did everything I could to get it going but finally resorted to the manual to see if there was a suggestion. The suggestion was that the oven had heated the burners too high and that I had to shut off the burners and wait for 5 minutes and try again to use them. The oven was only cooking at 300F. I waited 15 mins to get it running again. The stovetop went out once again and I had to stop cooking. Conversely Ive had the same issue with the oven. Ive been cooking in the oven and have had it shut down as a way to address the stovetop being too hot. How am I suppose to cook on this unit with any kind of confidence? I did an online chat with a rep today and they suggested getting a technician over to the house. I was told I could pay $129 to have them look at it. This is obviously a design flaw that I was never told about prior to my purchase and would never have bought had I known. Shame on Whirlpool!

Twice the lines have clogged up with ice, causing the water to pool in the bottom of the fridge and then leak onto the floor. The maintenance man said this was a common problem in the complex with the refrigerators. Tonight, I heard noise coming out of the fridge. It was so loud it scared the cat. I went to check on it and a juice bottle had exploded in the fridge. It cannot keep an appropriate temperature. Things up front are barely cool and things at the back freeze. We are moving and unfortunately, the house we are buying has Whirlpool as well. When it comes time to replacing the refrigerator, it will not be a Whirlpool!

It will just keep trying to spin, yet NOT spinning, then when you stop it, there is no choice to just spin again, you have to rinse and spin!! Unbelievable.... takes a whole evening to do one load of towels!!! (actually a whole evening to do 2 towels) I hate it!!! Not to mention, whatever they designed between the tub and the door, a rubber whatever it is, is nothing but a catch for disgusting bacteria and slime. We purchased a Duet from Lowes just a few months ago. Within 2 weeks we had an inoperable machine. After 2 phone calls a service technician came out and looked it over. He had to come back a total of three times to replace the motherboard. That worked for about six weeks and it died again. He came out again and replaced the motherboard again. Fast forward two months and the machine is once again inoperable. When plugged in, it makes an ominous growling sound but nothing else happens. The idiot who designed this thing has no common sense. Its programmed so that it will LOCK on any failure. Not only has every one of these episodes left us with a load of clothes in there getting moldy, you cant even get to the model number or serial numbers; both of which are only visible inside the rim of the machine.So adding insult to injury, your machine is broken, your clothes are in there getting ruined, and YOU CANT EVEN GET TO THE INFORMATION YOU NEED TO SET UP THE SERVICE CALL. If it had only happened once, Id laugh, but this is the third time and its not funny. We bought this machine because it said proudly made in USA. Next time, Ill support the Korean economy and buy a reliable, durable Samsung. The only positive I can offer is that the Whirlpool live chat person was able to set up the service call for me even though I cant get to the relevant data inside the machine. DONT BUY A WHIRLPOOL WASHER. Despite their legacy and US-feel-good associations, the sad truth is that they are poorly engineered and poorly manufactured.

I had a Whirlpool dishwasher for year and it worked great, but the baskets were rusting. I decided Feb 2014 to purchase another Whirlpool dishwasher. It did not clear as well as my old dishwasher. The seller of the dishwasher stated it was our water or detergent. The water and detergent were the same. The only difference was the dishwasher. Day prior to changing the dishwasher, the dishes were clear and the day I changed the dishwasher, the dishes were not clean. November 2016, the main board has gone out. The part costs $148, plus the service call. I called Whirlpool. They stated they would sell me the part or would discount a new dishwasher. I think they should discount the part!!! Whirlpool makes most brands of dishwashers, so you cant change companies. Their quality is all you can get.

On 02/25/13 we purchased a Whirlpool Gold Series side by side (French door) refrigerator with an ice maker at the cost of $1,850.00. In April of 2014 the ice maker stopped working and the freezer at the bottom would not freeze food. Luckily for us it was still under warranty and was repaired. At the time of the repair, the repairman (associated with HHGregg) told us that the refrigerator should have been replaced since the cost of the repair was more than the fridge itself. Now July 20th, 2015, the same issue has surfaced. Again the ice maker will not work and the freezer wont freeze. I would not recommend this product or if you do pay the extended warranty.

After our warranty ran out, we had to have the guts of the refrigerator replaced and then the ice maker replaced again. Now the freezer door wont shut and I cannot believe that Whirlpool would put their name on this piece of junk! We splurged to get what we thought was a high end model but it has been problem after problem. RUN from Whirlpool!

We had bought a whirlpool refrigerator (Model - DC 205 5S/2016) in late April 2016. Initially I noticed a whirring sound after 6-7 hours of switching it on. As nobody from whirlpool had come for installation or any follow up even after requesting, we let it go thinking that nothing could go wrong with a new fridge. Nevertheless, the disturbing sound continued, until I noticed exposed wires running crisscross atop the freezer box and below it, one even preventing the chiller tray to be pulled out easily. Also, we had to get a stabilizer to reduce the notice even though it was written in big bold letters that it was a Stabilizer free refrigerator.After 8 months of owning it, we went for a three-day trip leaving the refrigerator on and set at point 3 in the cooling knob of which 5 is the maximum. On returning back, I noticed a crack at the top right corner of the freezer door and saw that ice had built up covering that side of the freezer inside. Again, as I had to leave for office within 1 hour, I let it rest and went. In the evening we noticed that the crack had extended, so we defrosted the fridge. The next morning I found a small piece of the freezer door floating in the defrosted water, and the freezer door was unhinged and askew at the top, in fact a part of the freezer doors upper right hinge had broken due to maybe the pressure of ice buildup, which had caused the crack that we saw.Shocking it was at first to learn that a freezer door be made of such low standard material ignoring the other fact of wires jutting out of the freezer at top and bottom. As the warranty period was 12 months, I immediately called the customer care, who put me on hold for 8-10minutes and disconnected, this repeated 2 times after which I was frustrated enough and vowed not to use the freezer again.After almost a month a more responsible member of my family took it upon himself and raised a complaint which was answered and a service person came home with a dirty looking and completely scratched piece of replacement door for the freezer. He informed that plastic pieces never came in warranty and we had to pay for it. Upon asking for further clarification he called his manager, Hemanth who was too rude and informed Madam you have pulled the freezer door apart which has caused this. Also, he was asking me specifically are you lying as you said initially that you left for 3days and now you said 5 days? We had left on a Friday night and came back on Tuesday morning, which means 3 complete days out of station. I never knew the exact number of days mattered as a fridge was supposed to be switched on continuously for days.Also, finally Hemanth was informing like if it was some mechanical or electrical fault we could have done it free of cost. So, I reported the whirring noise and the wires jutting out of the freezer tray. He blabbered at first and then informed me that the sound might be due to voltage fluctuation if you are not using a stabilizer (we were using one even though the fridge was a stabilizer free operation one, phew) and the wires issue he completely ignored claiming it as normal.So we paid in full for the dirty and scratched replacement door and also had to be called as liars and blamed that we had literally pulled off the door. Also, he was the most unprofessional manager that I had ever spoken to as he closed the conversation with, If it was LG or Samsung, they would never even have come for service like this. Enough was enough... Never in my life would I have anything to do with whirlpool nor will suggest this brand to anybody.They use such low-quality products. The warranty promises are just scam + even the managers are so insulting and bad mannered to the extent that I never want to deal with them anymore. Also, they dont think twice before just blaming the customers for their low-quality products. In all my years so far I have never come across a brand that treat their customers like this.

Our Samsung self cleaning oven burned out. The wires in the back were burnt and brittle and its a miracle our house did not burn down. While shopping we were told the new self cleaners were so much better, not the high heat, odor etc. This Whirlpool stove does not self clean, its a joke. I have scrubbed for hours on it. It does not get any kind of grease etc. off. You need to scrub and work hours. It may take a small spill off the bottom of the stove but thats it. There is no way to get all the grease splatters off the walls etc. I hate this stove and see there was a class action law suit on it. If I would have known then what I know how it would have gone back as soon as it arrived. I plan to go looking for another stove and it will not be a Whirlpool Aqualift self cleaning.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum washer and dryer from HH Gregg and have had continuous issues with the washer. We have had the lid springs replaced two times since we purchased it and they are out again. I called our service company to ask why we have to continue to replace the springs very 6 months and they said it was a problem Whirlpool was having with this unit. I called Whirlpool and after being on the phone for 45 minutes, they told me there was not a recall, but I could buy the parts directly from them for 1/2 price. This amounts to about $20. The repair cost me about $200 every 6 months because it is a difficult installation. Whirlpool is a terrible company to deal with when you have a problem and they do not stand behind their products. I will never buy another Whirlpool product and will tell everyone I know the same.

The turntable could be more stable. My model is a built in over the oven option. Black & digital. It has lots of preset options & is pretty user friendly. I like the size & it is super quiet.

This washer is only a year old and out of warranty. At first I was getting white stains on dark clothes and now I am getting unremovable oil stains on all of my clothes. With the white stains I cut back on dry detergent and went to liquid. It did not help. On black stains I sorted clothes very carefully so that nothing dark or black was in with other color or white clothes, still the same stains. Brand new capri pants ruined with first washing. I have tried cleaning the machine with bleach as recommended, did not work. Whirlpool and Sears deny they have ever had a complaint. Yet there are hundreds of the same complaints on the internet. Is there anything that can be done.

Did not mind it that much thinking it was just baked on grease and would just do a general cleaning when I get to it. After the holidays and now getting around to clean the range top, I discovered the cause of range top not cleaning well. The porcelain was chipping away.Today I called Whirlpool customer to complain and see what they do. They replied that it was just a cosmetic blemish and that was not covered under warranty. I told them that that cosmetic blemish lead to rusting and eventually result to failure of the product. They also said it was out of warranty but was eager to have a tech come over to check the problem out for additional fee.

If you are searching for a top freezer refrigerator that works and keeps the food cold, do not buy this brand. I recently ordered a brand new refrigerator from Home Depot, the Whirlpool brand. It was set to standard factory settings, and I let it sit plugged in for 24 hours as required. The fridge was remaining in between 45 to 50°F, and I let it run for another 24 hours after filing a complaint and talking to the people at Whirlpool. The fridge still cannot get beneath 40°F, though the freezer seems to be okay. I spent almost $1000 on the refrigerator, and I’m very disappointed in the quality that this supposedly good brand produces. I went on Facebook marketplace, found an old 1995 Kenmore and bought it for $50. It works so much better than this brand new, fancy looking refrigerator, because back decades ago is when they actually took the time to make quality products, and didn’t make the crap that they do now that breaks down instantly or after only a few years. Unfortunately, and my researching has confirmed this, appliance manufacturers today create bad quality products that break down shortly in order that you will have to purchase more of their products after only a few years. Refrigerators used to last decades, now you’d be lucky if they lasted maybe 8 to 10 years. Trust me on this, don’t waste your time on this brand. A refrigerator should have no problem on factory settings getting at or below 40°F within 24 hours. DON’T BUY THIS JUNK!

I purchased a Whirlpool washer and dryer from Sears in April of this year. Here, to date, I had to call four Toms to have this unit repaired. I contacted Sears to have the unit replaced. I believe this particular unit needs to be recalled. Sears informed me that the unit must be assessed by one of their qualified/certified technicians before a request to be valid. I have concerns about this statement. Employees will not go against their company in fear of retaliation. In addition, I paid cash for the unit and now cannot get my money back. I’m dissatisfied with Sears and their values.

This is the 2nd Whirlpool microwave where I am experiencing bubble and peeling paint as well as rusting. Whirlpool informed that the manufactory was 1 year warranty and to contact a technician at my expense. There is a real health issue here and I hope consumer complaints about this company is being monitored by someone who can help all of those with concerns.

Same problem occurred again after 3 months of service, so I had it serviced again. Now the problem is its not working at intervals. I called the service and the person could not find any issues and says its working well. While it was pending resolution, the problem recurred and refrigeration is nil now. At the freezer, even after 8 hours, the water has not turned into ice and all food products have perished.

Im very satisfied with the looks and performance of my Whirlpool dishwasher, it is quiet enough that I put it on to wash before going to bed. It is that quiet. Im not happy about the way it was installed, but that is no fault of the dishwasher or Whirlpool, it works great even though it sits kind of crooked in the cabinet. The dishes are always sparkling clean and dry when it is done washing.

Everything else works fine! Let me repeat that. I have a 20 yr old Whirlpool microwave that works just fine! Well, since the oven broke, we thought, maybe its time to update all the appliances. We went to the large appliance store from which our original ones came, and were told that all microwaves are now made in China by Sharp, and are crap!! Wed be lucky to get 3 years out of one. My jaw hit the ground. I couldnt believe the appliance salesman was telling us this! In fact, the appliance repairman that diagnosed my oven to be unrepairable ($100 trip charge, thank you very much) didnt have much good to say about the newer refrigerators... They contain much less Freon and dont seem to hold up as well... So, I guess Ill just keep my old appliances going as long as possible! How can appliance manufacturers stay in business!

I HATE, HATE, HATE the aqua lift clean feature. Its awful. The bottom came somewhat clean but cook bacon and the sides and top are filthy and the aqua lift cant clean that. I dont know how this ever made it past the thought process stage to become a thing but it needs to go away. Im quite cranky right now as Ive just spent two hours scrubbing my oven while reaching past the oven door that doesnt come off because its a self-clean oven. This is what I have to look forward to for the next 10 years until it dies and I can get a new oven? What a joke!!

Had a recall about a similar problem but our serial number was not included???? Did not want to give them any stars.
