I love hard boiled eggs. It hasbeen an addiction of mine from childhood. I grew up loving egg mayonnaise (Americanscall it an egg salad) and I loved eggs over a delicious salad. Not to mentionmy love for sliced eggs on toast.

The only kitchen accessory we hadback then for eggs was a slicer. The egg slicer would slice the egg perfectlyand you would think how gourmet your egg looked.

But your parents would still havegone through the effort of boiling the egg, attempting to peel it before itlanded on your dinner plate.

That is why I am glad that I amteaching my kids to cook in this modern kitchen gadget world and they can watchwith amazement as the magic of the instant pot, takes the effort away andproduces amazing instant pot no peel hard boiled eggs.

That is literally it! Because the egg mould is so AMAZING (well this one is that we use), you don’t need to oil the egg bite mould as they come out perfectly every time.

We tried it several times and not once did it stick!

Though, I have been made aware that some lower quality brands do stick. The one we use is also the same brand that has many best selling instant pot accessories that we feature in many of our instant pot recipes as we love their products. They have just amazed me with how easy they have made instant pot cooking.

You can use any eggs that cook well. My favourite eggs are duck eggs, but regular hen eggs work fine too.

Just like you can use cheap eggs and quality free range eggs. We won’t judge, just use what eggs you LOVE.

A mention should of course go to the Instant Pot we use. We have both the 6 quart, 8 quart instant pot. We also have the 6 quart Mealthy Multipot.

The size of instant pot you have only matters if you want to cook 14 no peel hard boiled eggs at once. You see each egg bite mould holds 7 eggs.

If you wanted to stack and do 2 lots and cook 14 at once, you would need the 8 quart. This is because the 8 quart is slightly taller and will fit them in better.

FAQs

How many eggs can you boil in an Instant Pot at one time? ›

Your Instant Pot should have come with a metal trivet. Place the eggs on top of the trivet. I have a 6 QT IP and I can easily fit 12 eggs on the trivet. You can make as many as 1 or to however many you can fit in your IP.

Why are my hard-boiled eggs cracking in the Instant Pot? ›

If your eggs seem to be cracking more often, or are cracking before the whites are set, try cooking them at low pressure instead of high pressure.

What makes boiled eggs not peel? ›

This is because the egg white or “albumen” in a fresh egg has a relatively low pH level, making it acidic. When cooked, these fresh egg whites bond strongly to the inner shell's membrane. As an egg ages, the pH level rises and the inner membrane is less likely to bond to the albumen, so the shell peels off much easier.

How long are hard-boiled eggs good for? ›

Hard cooked eggs can be stored in the refrigerator up to seven days, either left in their shells or peeled. Make sure eggs are refrigerated within two hours after cooking, and don't leave refrigerated cooked eggs out at room temperature for more than two hours.

What is the 50 eggs reference? ›

“Nobody can eat 50 eggs!”

It was the disbelief and outrage of his fellow inmates that pushed Paul Newman's character in the movie Cool Hand Luke to prove that he could indeed pull off the unthinkable feat he had just muttered out loud to no one in particular.

What is egg mode on Instant Pot? ›

Plug in the Instant Pot, lock the lid, and position the steam release valve to "sealed." Press the "Egg" button on the Instant Pot. It will pressure cook the pot for five minutes on normal. This will result in hard-boiled eggs. If you want soft-boiled eggs, use the "-" button to reduce the cook time to four minutes.

Are hard-boiled eggs better in air fryer or Instant Pot? ›

Benefits of using an air fryer to cook hard boiled eggs

Compared to the instant pot, making hard boiled eggs in the air fryer can be fast since the instant pot requires time to come to pressure, so the 5-5-5 method (popular method for cooking eggs in the pressure cooker) takes longer than 15 minutes.

Does it matter how many eggs I put in an Instant Pot? ›

Eggs: You can do anywhere from 2 to 12 eggs (or more if they fit comfortably in your IP!). The timing and amount of water stays the same no matter how many you are doing at a time! Water: You always have to have some liquid for the Instant Pot to function properly.

Why are my eggs exploding in the Instant Pot? ›

The trivet helps to keep the eggs nicely arranged so they don't collide during cooking and risk cracking, but the eggs should cook just fine without it. Note that not using a trivet *could* be why your eggs explode in the Instant Pot.

Why did my eggs turn brown in Instant Pot? ›

Here are some possible reasons: Forget to add water to the Instant Pot. Not using a trivet and placing the eggs directly on the Instant Pot surface. Cooking the eggs for too long.

Is it OK if a hard boiled egg cracks? ›

Bacteria can enter eggs through cracks in the shell. Never purchase cracked eggs. However, if eggs crack on the way home from the store, break them into a clean container, cover tightly, keep refrigerated, and use within two days. If eggs crack during hard cooking, they are safe.

What can I add to boiled eggs so they peel easier? ›

According to our friends at Delish, adding a teaspoon of baking soda to your boiling pot of water will help the shell peel off seamlessly. Why? The alkaline in the baking soda will help your egg whites loosen up from the shell, making it easier to peel.

What makes hard-boiled eggs peel faster? ›

Cool Eggs Quickly In An Ice Bath

Shocking your recently boiled eggs by submerging them into a bowl of ice water is key. The quick cooling of the hard-boiled eggs causes the egg whites to contract, freeing them from the membrane. If you let them cool for about 15 minutes, the peeling is much easier.

Does vinegar make peeling hard-boiled eggs easier? ›

The vinegar in the water makes the eggs easier to peel. Here's why: The vinegar's acid not only dissolves some of the calcium carbonate in the shell, it also helps the whites set faster. Running the hard-boiled eggs under cold running water as you're peeling, meanwhile, helps the shell separate from the membrane.
