The surefire way to prevent a challenging shrooms trip:Don’t take them. It’s as simple as that.Sure, there are initiatives you can take to prevent the likelihood of a “bad” trip from happening. You can:•Have a trusted guide in place•Curate an intentional set and setting•Remove all distractions•Do the prep work•Etc.But the reality is, mushrooms surface whatever calls for healing, pleasant or not. What’s important, is the way you frame your experience. The only "bad trips" stem from us judging our journeys as failures when difficulty appears.Getting exposed to our truest selves may not be comfortable.Healing via mushrooms means leaning into vulnerability bravely, not fighting or running from it.By welcoming all that emerges without shame, you transmute “bad” trips into wholeness. The plants don’t make mistakes – but we do in believing any experience with them is actually bad.The only way out is through. If you want to learn more about psilocybin journeys: I have an entire library of knowledge ready to take you down the rabbit hole of a life-time. Why every mental healthcare provider should add psychedelic-assisted therapy to their tool-belt:It’s simple.Current mental healthcare tools (not all, but most) can make patients feel powerless. These tools lead patients to believe their health and wellness is in the hands of a prescription pill or their bi-weekly therapy session. These tools make promises they can’t always uphold. These tools become the hero in the patient’s story. When done correctly…P.A.T empowers patients.P.A.T wakes the patient up and shows them the truth that’s always been there: The agency is, and has always been in their hands.P.A.T shows the patient THEY are the hero in their story. And when patients know it’s them who solved their problems (not an external source) — that’s when this crazy life we live starts to make sense.

Shroom school for smart sisterhood: Get the most out of your psilocybin journey with this 6 step, pre-trip protocol:1 - Get real with yourselfShrooms surface what you NEED to heal.Pleasant or unpleasant, true healing begins when you lean into what comes up, not run from it.Before you trip, ask yourself:•Will I truly lean into what comes up and not shy away from it?It is important to ask this question with pure honesty. The answers to these questions, will determine if you’re best suited for:•A high-dose journey•A mid-dose journey•A microdosing protocol•No journey at all2 - Prepare your mindTo ensure you’re ready to handle whatever comes up — it’s critical to prep your mind in the months, weeks, or days leading up to your trip.Yoga, therapy, journaling, meditation, breath work, and other mindful practices are all useful prep tools.3 - Research where to buy (or grow) Psilocybin mushrooms are legal in few parts of the U.S, decriminalized in others, and illegal in most.Know your laws before you buy.If you buy underground, do your research and use good-judgment.4 - Determine your ideal strain/variationNot all magic mushrooms are created equal. As a general rule to follow:Golden teacher is more suited for beginners.Penis Envy is more suited for seasoned trippers.2 grams of Golden Teacher may make the neighborhood trees dance but 2 grams of Penis Envy could send you to space.Choose a strain that aligns with your experience level and desired trip intensity.5 - Determine your doseDifferent dose = different experienceKnow the difference between a microdose, a medium-dose, a high dose, and a hero’s dose.6 - Curate an ideal settingYour surroundings play a crucial role in shaping your psychedelic experience.Whether it involves being inside, being in the sun, listening to music, being around fellow sister-trippers, being alone, etc.Make sure you create a comfortable space to trip.Remember, your psychedelic experience is a personal exploration. The key is to approach it with respect, responsibility, and a sense of adventure. Happy tripping! If you’re a woman and want to learn more on how you can use psilocybin to heal and change your life for the better:Here’s a podcast (The High Guide) I think you’ll enjoy (link in comments).

Women can get more from their psilocybin journeys with this trick (Hint: It involves understanding your menstrual cycle!):A question I get all the time from women is “When’s the best time to trip (mushrooms)?”There are many variables to consider when deciding when to use psilocybin.•When can you be in an ideal set + setting?•When will you have time to fully prepare and integrate the experience (and not be distracted from life’s demands)?•Etc.But little do most women know — there is another under-the-radar question to ask yourself when deciding WHEN to trip:Where are you at in your menstrual cycle?Research shows our bodies best utilize plant medicines when we align rituals with natural rhythms.Jennifer Chesak, author of The Psilocybin Handbook for Women encourages women to align their psilocybin journeys with their ovulation period. The energy afforded to us during the ovulatory period is very conducive and helpful. If you’re eager to learn about the relationship between menstrual cycles and psilocybin — this podcast is just for you (link in the comments). And if you want to learn more on how you can use cannabis and psychedelics to change your life for the better:Here’s a podcast (The High Guide) I think you’ll enjoy (link in comments).

Psychedelics are not ”an escape from reality.”They are an escape from a limited reality. And a door to an unbound reality.

5 things to know about nature’s ancient love drug, Kanna:Recently, I sat down with Stephanie Wang, founder of KA Empathogenics to talk about an under-the-radar, psychoactive plant that is clinically-proven to help people heal.Kanna.Kanna is a natural empathogen and psychoactive (not psychedelic) plant that’s been widely used across South Africa for thousands of years.Stephanie launched her company KA after personally healing with Kanna and wanting to share the heart-opening benefits of this wondrous, empathogenic botanical. Here are 5 takeaways from my conversation with Stephanie:1 - Kanna has remarkable healing potential:It can:• Help regulate the nervous system • Reduce anxiety + stress •Improve focus, memory, & creativity •Even improve physical enduranceThis is clinically proven.2 - Kanna is an empathogen:This means it elevates consciousness THROUGH THE HEART — NOT THE MIND.It brings self-awareness into the body and a very real "felt sense" of presence, unlike a disassociated spiritual journey. This is a key difference.3 - Kanna produces most noticeable changes when taken consistently with a clear intention.Sure, Kanna can produces immediate effects. But the full benefits are reaped when taken consistently over 30+ days. When taking Kanna over a 30 day time period, most report the effects to be subtle but accumulating.4 -Kanna should not be taken at the same time as your stimulant medication. For those taking stimulant medications like Adderall, Kanna should not be taken concurrently according to Stephanie.5 - Supervision is needed when combining Kanna with SSRIs or benzodiazepine.Stephanie strongly advises speaking to your healthcare provider before combining Kanna with SSRI antidepressants, SNRIs, or benzodiazepines. Medical supervision is essential to safely transition or wean off these substances onto kanna due its serotonergic activity. That’s it!If you’re eager to learn how you can use nature’s MDMA (Kanna) to open your heart and heal — this podcast is just for you (link in the comments). And if you want to learn how you can use cannabis and psychedelics to change your life for the better:Here’s a podcast (The High Guide) with everything you need to know about these substances (link in comments).
